Nigeria have not lost to Kenya in the past 10 meetings. They won all but once with the East Africans nicking just a 1-1 draw in Nairobi in a France 1998 World Cup qualifier.
The Eagles were comfortable 3-0 winners in a friendly in Abuja when both teams last clashed in 2011.
It’s a clash of the top team against the team at the bottom of this qualifying group. Nigeria are top of the standings in Group F with four points from two matches, while Kenya only have a point.
Namibia have recorded three points and Malawi are third with two points.
Italy-based winger Nnamdi Oduamadi is staging a return to the team after an absence caused by a long-term injury and he said the African champions will win the three points at stake.
"It’s great to be part of the team again. It will be a good game for us because we are aiming for victory and I hope to be part of the victory,” said the left wide man who has been shipped out on loan by AC Milan.
There are several notable absentees for the African champions, namely skipper Joseph Yobo, injured Emmanuel Emenike, Ikechukwu Uche and Efe Ambrose, who is suspended after he picked up bookings in the qualifiers against Namibia and Malawi.
Coach Stephen Keshi said they will carry on without Ambrose, who has established himself at right back.
"We will not miss him. We don't build the team around a player but we build the team around the team that is why another player is readily available to fill the vacuum created by the absence of another," maintained Keshi ahead of his team's first game since winning the AFCON last month.
"Even though I would want to have all my players from the Nations Cup, it was not possible so we make do with what we have and see how it goes."
Time of kick off 4.00 pm saturday 23 2013
