Inventors create glove that converts sign language into speech

Finally people who communicate with sign language will now be able to communicate with the rest of the world with this super cool glove.

A team of Ukrainian inventors have developed a high tech glove that can convert sign language into speech.

"EnableTalk" is equipped with a complex network of sensors that recognize hand movements and translate the signs, which are then converted into the spoken word for an application for smart phones.

The inventors have already won an award for its design and "EnableTalk" will improve the quality of life for millions of people around the world with speech and hearing problems.

The high-tech glove comes complete with flexible sensors, touch sensors, and accelerometers gyroscops and solar cells that help keep it running. It even allows users to create and program their own signs that the application will then recognize. "EnableTalk" is still in prototype stage, but it is gaining admirers in high places.

The project was the winner in the "Microsoft Imagine Cup" recently in Australia, a contest to promote technical innovation. The people behind the team behind are confident that they will end up with a product that will change the lives of people with speech impairment.

Programmer Maxim Osika said: "We were inspired to help our friends who are listening and speech impaired to be able to communicate like everyone else." This means creating a device that is revolutionary and affordable. "EnableTalk" inventors claim that the hardware of the prototype costs just $75 which means they will be able to offer a finished
